A 2-day International Conference on “Meeting India’s Infrastructure Needs with Public Private Partnerships: the International Experience and Perspective”, organised jointly by the Government of India, the World Bank, and the International Finance Corporation - the private sector arm of the World Bank Group - in collaboration with Public Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF), and IDFC was held in New Delhi on Februray 5-6, 2007.
The conference provided a high level forum for discussing the Government of India's program for scaling up infrastructure services through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), highlighting progress till date, sharing of international experience, and getting feedback on the perception and interest of investors and lenders, particularly those from outside India.
The conference involved high-level participation from major international and national investors and operators active in the infrastructure sectors, senior Indian government officials, policy-makers from countries with successful PPP programs, and representatives of financiers and lenders.
