World Bank Energy Strategy Consultations

 

January 6, 2010: As part of the ongoing consultations on the approach paper to the World Bank’s energy strategy, the Bank’s New Delhi office made a presentation to civil society today.

The approach paper will form the basis for the World Bank Group’s energy sector strategy which is expected to be presented to the Bank’s Board of Directors in early 2011.

The new energy strategy is being formulated at a time when developing countries, including India, need more and cleaner energy in order to overcome poverty and set them on strong growth paths.
