Targeting policy makers, implementing agencies, service providers, corporates, NGOs, parents & support group as well as representatives of disability organisations, the main objectives of the meeting are:
- To explore the possibility of establishing a network of professionals and review the status of inclusive education through holistic approach including health education in countries of the South-East Asia Region. To share the lessons learnt in order to strengthen country capacity in this area.
- To formulate a broad framework for improving independence of persons with disability by sharing and learning from each other’s experiences in the field of well being, inclusive education, and employment of persons with disability.
- To identify best practices including advocacy efforts to open new vistas for linking education with health care initiatives, support services , vocational training etc. for persons with disabilities.
The meeting will have three broad themes:
- Holistic Development through Inclusive Education
- Promoting Accessibility and Employment
- Enabling the Disabled.
Seven sessions will be hosted. Each session will have one or two keynote speakers and invited papers.
